Product Description of Benzalkonium Chloride CAS#63449-41-2
Benzalkonium chloride, alternatively named dimethylbenzylalkylammonium chloride,is a quaternary-ammonium-based cationic surfactant and non-oxidizing biocide with broad-spectrum disinfection performance. It dissolves freely in water and keeps stable under different water-hardness conditions, featuring low acute toxicity and no obvious cumulative toxic effect. The substance can restrain bacteria, algae and biological slime inside aqueous systems, and carries good penetrating, dispersing and slime-stripping capacity. In addition, it delivers partial degreasing, deodorizing and anti-corrosion functions.
This product is available in two major grades: high-purity solid and aqueous solution. The 95-99% high-purity solid appears as white to pale-yellow powder or waxy gelatinous lumps, while the 50%-80 wt% aqueous solution is a colorless to pale-yellow clear viscous liquid that generates foam upon shaking.
