Decanoyl Octanoyl-Glycerides, commonly abbreviated as GTCC, is a mixed triester produced by esterification of glycerol and medium-chain fatty acids. It is a colourless, nearly odourless, low-viscosity lipophilic emollient with good oxidative stability. In cosmetic formulations, GTCC can substitute many kinds of natural oils and fats, serving as an emollient and lipid replenisher. It also functions as a carrier and diluent for active substances and conditioning ingredients such as sterols. Thanks to its good stability, GTCC helps lower the dosage of extra antioxidants and stabilizers in formulas without adverse side effects.

GTCC is widely used in sunscreen oils, creams and lotions, as well as after-sun creams and emulsions. It is also commonly added to hair care products such as styling oils, hair creams and hair oils to improve hair gloss, smoothness and combability.
Moreover, GTCC is ideal for bath oils, skincare oils and nutritional preparations. It can also be used in facial cleansers, creams, lotions and baby care products including baby oils, creams and lotions. In addition, it is applied in makeup bases such as cream cosmetics, stick formulations and medicinal cosmetics.
